Time: 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

The February General Membership business meeting and presentation will be held virtually on Monday, February 1, 2021.  Look for your Zoom invitation.

At 11:30 AM Yang Li will explore the true story of Tombstone’s “China Mary,” a character made famous in the TV western “Wyatt Earp.”   Li’s research into this figure explores the reality of her life, as well as of the other Chinese who lived in Tombstone during the exclusion period. Li, who received a doctorate in East Asian Studies from the University of Arizona in 2004, has written extensively on Chinese history and Chinese-American history, with articles appearing in both Taiwan and the United States. In 2011 she received the C.L. Sonnichsen Award for best article in “The Journal of Arizona History.”
