General Membership Meeting with Mackenzie Kimbro

Date: 4/3/2017

Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

General Membership Meeting at AZ Heritage Center at Papago Park with guest speaker Mackenzie Kimbro. A sixth-generation cattle rancher in southeastern Arizona, Mackenzie will be accompanied by her mother, Kelly Glenn-Kimbro. They will share stories of their family’s cattle ranch, mountain lion and deer hunts and their work with the Malpai Borderlands Group. Mackenzie will bring her cookbook and speak about her culinary efforts and her career as a sports coach. Mrs. Glenn-Kimbro has been the spokesperson for the Gun Company since 1988.
Mackenzie Kimbo maintains her ranching operation on the international Border. She is on the 2016 National Beef Ambassador Team and is a strong advocate for the agriculture industry.  Due to the location of the ranch, she is heavily involved in political personnel meetings concerning immigration reform and border security issues.  She has maintained a successful captive breeding facility for endangered and threatened species. It has become a great resource for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and high school students within her school district. She is working as an overseer to the students maintaining the project to ensure its continued success. She hopes to continue utilizing the facility as a learning resource that shows how environmental stewardship and agriculture successfully coexist.
