Guest Day: General Membership Meeting, Speaker, & Lunch

Date: 1/9/2023

Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

Many early Arizona women became known for their fortitude in the face of adversity, their confrontation of extraordinary and sometimes dangerous situations, their adventuresome spirits, and their dedication to improving the lives of others. Among them were artists and healers, teachers and entrepreneurs, women who plowed the land, and those who were instrumental in establishing new laws for the Arizona Territory.

Author, historian, and lecturer Jan Cleere has put together a celebration of women who helped shape Arizona. Her presentation is taken from her book, Levi's & Lace, Arizona Women Who Made History.

Ms. Cleere is the author of six award-winning historical nonfiction books about the lives of early pioneers who ventured into the Desert Southwest. She writes a monthly column, "Western Women," for the Arizona Daily Star.  Her freelance work appears in national and regional publications. Visit her website at www.JanCleere.com.

January 9th is designated Guest Day.  Members are encouraged to bring a bring a friend to enjoy our award-winning author and lunch, and all guests will be given membership information.
