General Membership Meeting, Speaker, & Lunch

Date: 11/1/2021

Time: 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM

General Membership Business Meeting, Presentation, and Lunch will be held in person on November 1st at the Arizona Heritage Center. Wade Weber, Director of Education at Scottsdale’s Museum of the West, will talk to us about the museum's new exhibit, "Light and Legacy: The Art and Techniques of Edward S. Curtis." Curtis's photographs of thousands of Native Americans over several decades--including more than 80 different Native American peoples--became The North American Indian (1907-1930), an illustrated publication of photographs in 20 volumes. The project was supported by Theodore Roosevelt and partly funded by J. Pierpont Morgan. Wade will show us photos from the exhibit and talk about this influential project.

Lunch and a social time starts at noon. Purchase your box lunch by 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 28th, online. Or reserve your place by October 28th with Mary McMahon and pay by check or cash in person. Members with reservations are responsible for payment even if unable to attend.
